The VALOR Lab , funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund, officially opened in October 2024 in Chandler, Arizona. The facility was expanded in April 2025 to include the RF chamber and two customer-dedicated labs , enhancing its capabilities for end-to-end Open RAN validation.
End-to-End OTA Validation Ensures Seamless Open RAN Integration
Metanoia’s JURA O-RU underwent rigorous performance testing using reference O-CU and O-DU components provided by VALOR and its ecosystem partners. Conducted entirely within the RF anechoic chamber, the tests evaluated real-world performance metrics under realistic radio conditions.
Using O-RAN TIFG-defined test cases , VALOR assessed the system across the control, user, and management planes , ensuring full alignment with key O-RAN architectural and performance requirements in a multi-vendor setup .
This milestone demonstrates the lab’s ability to validate not only functional interoperability but also high-fidelity performance characteristics essential for commercial deployment readiness.
