Available Frequency Bands and Applications

The new rubber duck antennas cover three main frequency bands: 2.4 GHz, 433 MHz, and 916 MHz. Each frequency band serves a variety of applications:

916 MHz antennas enhance the range and reliability of short-range radio applications, such as wireless alarm systems and industrial telemetry.

2.4 GHz antennas are perfect for extending the range of Wi-Fi routers, improving Bluetooth device signals, and enhancing cordless telephone functionality.

433 MHz antennas are well-suited for industrial remote controls, tire pressure monitoring systems, and keyless entry systems.

Key Features

L-com’s rubber duck antennas are designed for flexibility and convenience. These small, lightweight antennas are easy to carry, store, and fit into tight spaces without compromising on performance. Some models are less than an inch tall, making them particularly useful in applications where space is limited. Installation is simple, typically requiring only basic screws or connectors, and no specialized tools or expertise. The antennas also feature tilt/swivel flexibility, allowing them to be adjusted for optimal signal positioning.

Their omnidirectional radiation pattern ensures consistent signal coverage in all directions, helping to reduce dead spots. Additionally, the antennas are durable, minimizing maintenance costs and reducing downtime due to replacements. They are built to operate in a wide temperature range, from -40°F to +140°F (-40°C to +65°C), making them suitable for various environmental conditions.

Applications

The new rubber duck antennas from L-com can be used in a broad range of applications, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IoT, as well as fixed and mobile devices. They are also compatible with technologies such as LPWAN, ISM, LoRaWAN, Sigfox, Weightless-P, Wi-Fi HaLow, and Zigbee, making them versatile for many industries.

Kevin Hietpas, Product Line Manager at L-com, said, “Our new line of rubber duck antennas expands our already extensive range of compact omnidirectional antennas. The new mini antennas with solder posts are ideal for direct-to-board applications.”
