Saelig Introduces Pico Technology PS3417E and PS3418E MSO: The World’s First USB-Powered 5GSa/s PC-Based Oscilloscopes with Mixed-Signal Capabilities
Made by Pico Technology, a leading European test and measurement company, the PicoScope 3000E MSO series comes with a 5-year warranty
Saelig Company, Inc. is excited to announce the launch of the Pico Technology PS3417E MSO and PS3418E MSO, the world’s first USB-powered PC-based oscilloscopes offering 5GSa/s sampling rate with mixed-signal (MSO) capabilities. These new models, which expand the PicoScope 3000 series, come in 350 MHz and 500 MHz bandwidth versions, and are equipped with 10-bit resolution (enhanced to 14-bit with precision), while also featuring 16 digital logic analyzer channels for advanced digital troubleshooting.
High-Performance, Portable Oscilloscopes
Compact and portable, the PicoScope 3000E series delivers impressive performance specs, enhanced by the PicoScope 7 Test and Measurement software. These devices are designed to provide fast, cost-effective debugging and validation for complex analog, digital, and power electronic systems. With a 2GSa deep capture memory, users can capture long-duration signals at the highest sampling rates, ensuring detailed signal analysis. The integrated DeepMeasure tool allows for automatic measurements of waveform parameters across up to a million waveform cycles for each triggered event.
The oscilloscopes feature USB 3.0 Type-C connectivity for high-speed data transfer and compatibility with modern PCs, though an adapter is included for earlier USB types. The USB power supply simplifies the setup and operation process.
Waveform Generation and Serial Decoding
Incorporating a 200 MSa/s 14-bit AWG / Function Generator, the PicoScope 3000E series can generate real-world waveforms for diverse applications, reducing the need for additional external devices. Users can control the oscilloscopes via the PicoScope 7 User Interface, compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms, which includes free updates. Additionally, 38 serial decoders are included, streamlining the analysis of serial communication buses, which is essential for efficient debugging.
With features like Segmented Memory, Persistence, and Fast waveform updates, these models enhance waveform visualization, making it easier to analyze and gain insights from captured signals. Users can navigate through thousands of waveforms quickly and filter them based on criteria like mask limit testing or measurement thresholds to focus on the most critical data.
Advanced Triggering and Display Capabilities
The MSO models come with digital triggering that allows users to reliably trigger the oscilloscope when any or all of the 16 digital inputs match a user-defined pattern, specified in hexadecimal or binary. The PicoScope software also takes full advantage of larger, high-resolution displays, such as 4K ultra-high-definition monitors, allowing for the simultaneous display of time-domain and frequency-domain waveforms, serial bus decoding, measurement statistics, and more, providing a richer user experience compared to traditional benchtop oscilloscopes.
Designed for Engineers Across Multiple Fields
Lightweight and compact, measuring just 8.7” x 7.2” x 1.2” and weighing 1.5 lbs, the PicoScope 3000E MSO series is designed for engineers working on cutting-edge electronics, embedded systems, research, and educational projects, whether in the lab or out in the field. These oscilloscopes are versatile tools for applications including embedded system design, testing, service, education, and repair.
Additional Features and Support
Made by Pico Technology, a leading European test and measurement company, the PicoScope 3000E MSO series comes with a 5-year warranty and includes free technical support, ensuring a reliable and long-lasting solution for users.
